I recently had surgery, so I have been meditating with this CD. Wonderful! I can feel the healing energy go thru my body. I love it!

My third of four Crystal healing bowl disks, Crystal Bowls Chakra Chants is healing and revitalizing. another disk I recommend is Mary Kennedy's Gateway of the Heart.

A 2009 single CD release from Jonathan Goldman and Crystal Tones, this is what I refer to as vibrational music. If you are already familiar with Goldman, this is the same type of music. In this case, crystal bowl sounds are interwoven with the other long, sustained notes. Very beautiful, very peaceful, and very meditative, this CD would likely enhance any alternate healing therapy (reiki, acupuncture, meditation, etc.) or could be used merely to induce a better night's sleep or even just to listen to. The 7 tracks are each over 10 minutes and there is one for each of the 7 commonly expressed chakras. Total album time is 73:53, or almost 1 ¼ hours, which is certainly conductive to an alternative therapy healing session. If you don't know what I am talking about, chakra is a Sanskrit, or ancient, term meaning wheel. It refers to the main energy centers of the body (root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, 3rd eye, crown). Many believe that by playing specific musical tones, you can cause each chakra to vibrate to the proper tones and re-balance the energy, thereby aligning the energy within and possibly preventing or repairing disease. If you don't believe in this possibility, I can understand your reluctance to accept the simplicity of it. Of course, this is only a part of it all, but combining music therapy in addition to a healthy diet, exercise, and working with yourself spiritually can make a huge difference in your life (in my humble opinion). By the way, there are all kinds of scientific studies on the relationship between sounds and healing, so if you are interested, please read on. A 24 page booklet is included, which explains how to use the CD, details about the chakras, the chakra sounds, the system that was used in this CD, the intention placed into the CD, the use of Ting-Shas/Tibetan Bells, the resonance of the crystal bowls, and additional explanatory notes on the recording. As explained in the booklet, this CD can be quite trance-inducing. So if you are trying to follow the music chakra 1, chakra 2, etc.--FORGET IT! Besides, that would likely ruin your experience of "going into" the music. The Bells ding peacefully at the beginning of each chakra track and match the chakra number. So 7 dings mean you are at the 7th (crown) chakra. Knowing which chakra you are at can help you to place your attention and intention on the right chakra at the right time and the vibration of the bells is such that it will likely NOT disturb your meditative state. If you are not consciously following the chakras, your subconscious will likely take care of it while you are zonked out. About a week ago, I attended a sound-healing conference at the Edgar Cayce Center in Virginia, where I met Jonathan and his wife Andi. This was one of the CDs we discussed at the conference. I have a pretty complete collection of Jonathan's CDs and I really enjoy them. Many times, I will plug one in and meditate out, no matter where I am, especially when I am trying to sleep in a strange hotel. If you are someone who "feels" the energy, you will enjoy this cd even more because you are already aware of how chanting or playing certain music changes the energy in a room. If you play the CD in a room aloud, be sure to just sit in the silence with the energy after it has finished playing. I think many people miss that aspect of the musical experience. Namaste'

I have listened to Steven Halpern's music for over 10 years, and this CD is among one of my favorites to-date. I use it to meditate, it's really a great CD!

I enjoy a good cd with relaxing ambience, but I wasn't as impressed with this one. I didn't feel as relaxed and changed cd's about half way through. I don't play it as much, unless it's background during conversation noise at a party. For alone time, I didn't like.

This is one of my most favorite healing/meditaion CD's of all time - & I've collected for YEARS! But be careful, the power of sound here is unlike anything else you might buy! These crystal Egyptian bowls have been recorded inside an actual PYRAMID to intensify the sound vibrations (not to be listened to on cheap speakers like a computer). I purchased the meditation CD Tonal Alchemy and really enjoy it, so I decided I'd purchase this one by Halpern also. This is billed as a "healing" type recording, and I have to admit that it does have a wonderful effect on one. I was first introduced to the concept of sound as a healing source when I worked in surgical intensive care with a confused, essentially dying patient, who was agitated, sleepless, and difficult to comfort with the usual methods used in ICU--mostly drugs, repositioning, encouragement, etc. It was close to the holidays, and a harpist who was on rounds with the hospital chaplain was playing music for individual patients that might be interested. I certainly was at my wit's end and was ready to try anything that might have a hope of making the patient more comfortable. The harpist played a few melodies, and I was amazed at the change in the man. He was "gone" enough so that he really wasn't aware that someone was there for him at all, but his behavior changed dramatically anyway. So did mine! I felt immediately calmer, less frustrated, less helpless to assist the patient. It was a physical feeling, almost like gentle fingers massaging your entire person, inside and outside. I tried to achieve the same effects later with CDs, but the sound of recorded harp music had little or no effect on my patients or on me. It was a very pleasant sound esthetically, of course, but not physiologically effective. This CD of crystal bowls is. For some reason, the sounds of Halpern's recording of various crystal bowls actually seems to penetrate the body and affect the sense of well being. I was very pleased with the work and will probably give copies to friends as gifts.

I own quite a few of Steven Halpern's CDs, and I find his music more comforting than a lot of other sound healing stuff. However... the "noise" of crystal bowls is not for me. Apparently some people find it quite tolerable, seeing some of the good reviews this album received. But if you're like me-- the type who experiences slight panic attacks when a fast train blows a horn as it hurls by in a subway, when someone with long nails scratches a chalkboard, when Mom plays the Vienna Boys' Choir at top volume, when a mosquito molests your ear at bedtime-- skip this one. Personally, I can't see how anyone can bear this loud, high-pitched "UFO-approaching" noise. And if you turn the volume down enough to tame the crystal bowls, you can't hear any of the other sounds. I suppose sound healing is largely a matter of taste, but just be careful with this one.

These sounds really resonate within me and feel just right without other distracting background sounds. I also really appreciate the longer resonating sounds versus the shorter singing bowl sounds of other cds. Thanks!

My curiousity got the best of me this time. I can't sit through this CD. I think you need to be into crystals in order to believe this is helpful. My advice to you is to listen to those samples, over and over, before you buy this. There is such an excellent variety of chant and sacred music out there, and I guess I'll have to stick with that.

...but I find this CD helpful. The first few times listening, I found it a trying experience. The droning sounds and weaving about take some getting used to. However, once one gets used to these unconventional sounds, and starts to just accept, the magic happens. I find myself unaware of my body at times, and my consciousness to be elsewhere. Earlier this week (I've only done about 10 sessions), as I sat listening, and drifting, I heard in my head, plain-as-day 'god is holding your hand.' Needless to say, this was a bit disconcerting, but amazing it its own way, for one who's not of the religious sort. I find myself looking forward to a session each day. The droning still is not pleasant, but the effect if produces after 10-15 minutes is great. This is the only meditation CD I've used that takes me to such a quiet, warm , calm, loving space. I've started calling it my 'god-space' for lack of a better term.

I love the calming sounds of the crystal bowles while meditating. But I do agree that the sounds could not be enjoyment for everybody. The bowles make long lasting high pitched sounds. I find it calming. This CD is one of my favorites to use during meditation.

Some of the tracks make for quite transcendental experiences, although turn down the volume if you're listening on headphones - the tones won't suit everyone. The sound quality is true to life, I was doubting if the 'goosebumps' quality of real crystal bowls would be evident in a recording, but they seem to be.

Wow! This program is great. It is informative and educational and entertaining as well. Linda Page presents information clearly and concisely about herbs and herbal healing. I learned so much! I loved the history of herbal healing section - Chinese, Ayurvedic and Western Civilizations - the images and music were beautiful. The kitchen segment at the end was also great. I love herb tea and now I know how to make the perfect pot of herbal medicinal tea! This should be shown in schools, too, because there is so much information about herbs and studies about herbs.

As much as my psychology methodological training would force me to rake this book over the coals, I'm RESISTING. For so many decades we have been working on the ideas of how our internal cognitive psychology affects our choices, lives, chemicals, reactions.. and the list goes on. Now, health fields have been saying for decades that we are what we eat & all that we consume does the same. Get on board: holistics, natural medicine, religion, meditation, pharmaceuticals, nutrition, etc. Are we ALL wrong in these endeavors? In our search to make life better & in every thing we discover, academia has been saying: prove it using every method of science available.. then we'll talk. Well, we'll all be dead before everything we are learning is proved beyond a shadow of a doubt. I'm not waiting that long. I found this whole idea very, very provocative and it fits with everything all other fields are trying to "prove" for all of you also. The fact is, this scares people because it just COULD be true and if it is, every one of us needs to change. This is the most powerfully convincing reason (maybe not research)to move us to evaluate & beautify our lives that will benefit everyone else around us when we do change. Just looking at a H20's crystals after a projection of hate/insult reminds me of what we might find in a contaminated junkyard. Isn't that what we have been doing to our world also- turning it into a junkyard? The same crystal w/ a loving projection? Amazingly gorgeous! Isn't that how we FEEL when we look at a lovely sight or are sincerely complimented? This suggests first hand that the damage we do just with words/ thoughts alone (to ourselves & others)is so much further reaching than hurt feelings. Isn't that what psychologists teach clientele as well as students? We ARE water people! A whole lot of water & space. The implications of this theory and what's at stake for our own bodies, lives, Earth, future and souls is just astounding with limitless potential for both good & bad. I'm not sitting around and whining "prove it" and hence, not benefiting from it while waiting. This concept in practice alone can do nothing but good- even if its false! Well, that is, if you are not using it for destruction. Look to the idea. Then, you will start to think better, eat better, act better. That will only be the beginning of an amazing domino/ ripple effect that will drastically improve all lives. If you want to improve anything in your life, SEE "why" & SEE what you will get out it & you won't have to drag yourself along the process. You'll go willingly :) CLOSING: So my fellow methodologists, sit, demand your proof, deny it all until you are satisfied. While you do that....I'm off to the make my world a better place by changing the water in my world into something beautiful! :) May you also be blessed with good health and a happy life through others doing the same as me.

I have read almost all Masaru Emotos book and also have his cards. Learned alot from his books as everyone who reads it would....get the book everyone!!!

Two years ago I went into the water business selling a medically approved Japanese water treatment system. I started studying every thing that had to do with water and the more I learned the more I got excited and intrigued by this mysterious element. Yes mysterious!! The earth is 75% water our body is 75% water in fact life wouldn't exist with out water and yet no one really knows where it comes from and it is only in the last few decades that scientist are trying to decode this phenomenal element. I knew about Emoto's experiments before reading this, but it is of course better to read in detail. I can't agree with his conclusions but it is entertaining, regardless.

This is the only proof of seen of the "energy" we're all connected to. It's remarkable. But for more of a "how to", buy Live Like A Fruit Fly - also on amazon.

This no doubt a pretty book; but it is not in my opinion a field guide or technical science book. It is my opinion then that it shouldn't be showing up in searches for field guides...which are the technical science oriented books that one would take along to identify "things" like birds, rocks, trees when taking a field trip. This looks to me to be a metaphysical or spiritual book and should be catagorized as such by Amazon. I don't think it's fair to authors of field guides (like me) to have numerous metaphysical books showing up in the ranking of field guides and offsetting the rankings.

this book covers most well-known stones as well as some not so familiar, and gives come "channeled" information which I had never heard before. Curious book, but useful.

I love this book! I own other stone reference books but none are as informative as this one. Great, easily identifiable pictures and in-depth descriptions make this one, by far, my favorite. It costs more than some of the others but is so much more extensive that this is the only one you need for everything you want to know. I wish I had bought this one first and saved the money I spent on the others!

This is an excellant book for anyone interested in gemstones. There is so much information. I bought it for myself and let a friend borrow it. She liked mine so much, she ordered one for herself! Highly recommend this book!The Book of Stones: Who They Are & What They Teach

This is the most amazing, informative stone book I have ever seen. The two authors each give a synopsis of each stone, and the pictures are just beautiful. The only down side is this book makes me want to buy every stone!

Bought this for a Christmas gift. My nephew LOVED this book ... couldn't put it down! Great transaction!

This volume is as thorough and beautiful as Volume 1, but feel this will not be as useful to me as the previous one which contained all the crystals I need to be acquainted with as a beginner. I can see Volume 2 helping the more advanced student. But I do love that I have the set.

Have bought many books on crystals over the years,...they can get get very cumbersome to go through, and to use when reseaching something......purchased the Crystal Bible I a few years ago by Judy Hall.....great little resource,...lot's of info and compact for carrrying around....very excited to learn that the Crystal Bible II came out this year....love it....as good as the first one!

If you are into crystals and gemstones, this book is excellant for referance for crystals and stones.

I was extremely excited to receive this book. I have nearly worn out her first book the Crystal Bible. I find the information very enlightening. I was so happy to have something that covered even more stones to go with her first book!
